The Apple Pie Hot Dog is America in One Hand

Oh America, you interesting so-and-so.

We have now arrived at the trifecta of American symbolism. What do you get when you cross apple pie, hotdogs, and baseball?... Apparently, you get the new concoction created by the mayor of Flavortown, Guy Fieri.

Fieri's most recent recipe is an amalgamation that combines a hotdog with an apple pie. Say it with me..."Gross." Now let's hear him out. The dessert..or entree, is reminiscent of pigs in a blanket. However, the blanket is an apple pie made of pie crust, apple pie filling, bacon jam, and a sweet-and-savory mustard.

However how interesting the recipe sounds, Fieri backs it up saying "I know people are going to look at this and go 'It's a gimmick.'"

Now here's where the baseball comes in. The reason baseball is so significant to this story is that this "dish" will only be available at Thursday night's game between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees, which will take played near the Field of Dreams movie site in Dyersville, Iowa. We say "near" because it's not exactly the same field. The original movie field was taken down after the movie. However, this new replica has been created to MLB standards, boasts a Field of Dreams-inspired design, and can house up to 8,000 baseball fans.

Apparently, if you build a weird dessert hotdog...They will come!
