This Woman Is Officially the World's Oldest Powerlifter

Edith Murway-Traina is... kind of amazing.

At 100-years-old, Murway-Traina became the world’s oldest powerlifter!

Murway-Traina first joined her gym when she was a spry 91, and says she recalls going in “kicking and screaming.” Obviously she loves it now, celebrating her August 8 birthday by entering the Guinness World Records!

"Lifting weights upwards of 40-150 pounds, Edith is smashing the competitive powerlifting circuit, dazzling viewers and judges alike with her graceful lifts," the Guinness World Records reads.

"While I was watching those ladies doing their thing, I thought I just as well should pick up a few bars, and I did," she told Guinness. "Going on a regular basis, I found that I was enjoying it, and I was challenging myself to get a little bit better and a little bit better. Before long, I was part of the team."
