Man Arrested in Sexual Assault of Woman in Redondo Beach

REDONDO BEACH (CNS) - An Inglewood man was in custody today for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Redondo Beach, police said.

Edwin Alberto Donissuchite, 21, was booked on suspicion of attempted rape by force or duress, and was being held on $100,000 bail, the Redondo Beach Police Department reported.

According to police, the woman was walking her dog at about 7:45 p.m. Monday near the 500 block of Diamond Street when she was sexually assaulted.

“A witness observed the incident and ran to assist the victim and detained the suspect until officers arrived on scene and took him into custody ...,'' police said in a statement.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and released, police said.

“Investigators are reviewing video surveillance from the area where the crime occurred and interviewing witnesses,'' police said. “Investigators are not releasing the booking photo of the suspect at this time due to the ongoing investigation.''
