LOS ANGELES (CNS) - For the third time in four days, the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was unchanged today, remaining at $4.365.

The price rose seven-tenths of a cent on Thursday, but was static the previous two days.

The average price is 1.3 cents more than one week ago, 5.7 cents higher than one month ago and $1.193 greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has changed by two-tenths of a cent or less 10 of the past 12 days.

The average price has risen $1.133 since the start of the year because of a sharp increase in the oil price, and higher demand stemming from more people driving to work, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.

The Orange County average price rose three-tenths of a cent to $4.336, one day after increasing a half-cent. It is 1.9 cents more than one week ago, 7.2 cents higher than one month ago and $1.173 greater than one year ago. It has risen $1.128 since the start of the year to its highest amount since Oct. 24, 2012.
