LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Delta Air Lines Inc. is being sued by a woman who says she was injured when she inhaled noxious fumes from unspecified liquids brought on board by another passenger on the same flight from New York to Los Angeles in 2019.

Alina Weinstein's personal injury/negligence lawsuit was filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court and seeks unspecified damages. A Delta representative could not be immediately reached.

Weinstein, who lives in California, was on board the flight from New York to Los Angeles on June 12, 2019, when she became sick from the fumes, the suit states. She blames her illness on the airline's failure to inspect the baggage of the other passenger, who brought “liquids prohibited onto (the) aircraft,'' according to the suit.

Weinstein has lost wages and has had to pay hospital and medical expenses, the suit states.
