Supreme Court Declines to Hear Constitutional Challenge to Male Only Draft

The Supreme Court has decided it will not be taking up a constitutional challenge to the rule that only men must register for the draft.

The ACLU is challenging the rule, calling the male-only requirement "unlawful sex discrimination" by deeming women "not eligible for combat".

However, the Defense Department began allowing women to serve in combat roles in 2013.

The Court declined to hear the case although it is expected Congress will take up the issue.
