Fire Breaks Out at Universal Studios on 13th Anniversary of King Kong Blaze

Guests at Universal Studios in Hollywood late Tuesday watched in horror as an under-construction Minions attraction went up in flames -- 13 years to the day that a fire destroyed another exhibit at the theme park.

Firefighters say smoke from the blaze could be seen for several miles around as crews from several agencies worked together to put it out. But thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The last major fire to occur at Universal occurred on June 1st, 2008, when the theme park's King Kong attraction was destroyed, a rep for Universal says. Several master recordings by such artists as Chuck Berry, Aretha Franklin and Louis Armstrong were also consumed by the flames.
