Long Beach Man Charged in Roommate's Stabbing Death

LONG BEACH (CNS) - A Long Beach man was charged today with murdering his roommate last weekend.

Eric Doore, 51, was arrested just before 4 a.m. Monday and is being held in lieu of $2 million bail, according to jail records.

Officers were sent about 8:40 p.m. Sunday to the 2100 block of Williams Street on a report of a stabbing and found the victim suffering from wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, the victim and his male adult roommate were both inside of their residence when a dispute ensued and escalated to a stabbing,'' according to a Long Beach police statement.

The victim, who was in his 60s, has not been publicly identified. Authorities were withholding his name pending notification of his relatives.
