Mondo Meets the Family of His Organ Donor

Our little buddy Mondo Hernandez was fighting for his life two years ago. He was diagnosed with Multi-myeloma, a type of blood cancer that affects the immune system and starts in specific white blood cells called plasma cells. These cells are found mostly in bone marrow and are an important part of the immune system because they produce a number of antibodies used by our bodies to fight infection. The blood cancer had attacked his heart. Mondo also needed a kidney transplant, due to his diabetes.

Mondo got the call in April 2020 that would save his life. Mondo received a heart and kidney transplant. A year and half later Mondo is doing great and had the honor to meet the family of his donor, a true hero in many ways.
