Firefighters Battle Packrat Conditions in Santa Clarita Blaze

SANTA CLARITA - It took firefighters about 20 minutes this morning to put out flames in a Santa Clarita mobile home due to packrat conditions.

The fire was reported just before 5:30 a.m. in a double-wide mobile home at 20401 Soledad Canyon Rd., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Firefighters reported heavy flames toward the rear of the home, where the packrat conditions were observed, officials said.

The flames spread to the area underneath the mobile home, officials said.

The flames were out at about 5:50 a.m.

No one was found inside during two searches of the home, officials said.
