The traffic stop occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday near Slauson Avenue and Buckingham Parkway, the Culver City Police Department reported.

“After contacting the two occupants, officers developed cause to search the vehicle,'' police said in a statement. “Inside the vehicle officers located (a) loaded and illegally possessed assault rifle, 2 loaded handguns, (and) approximately 21 lbs. of Methamphetamine.''

Officers arrested the suspects and then went to a hotel in the 6100 block of West Centinela Avenue where the pair were staying, police said.

“After obtaining a search warrant, a search of the room was executed which yielded an additional 61 lbs. of Methamphetamine,'' police said.

The suspects, whose names were not released, were booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance while armed, police said.
