Weapons Found in Pomona Man's Car Following Alleged Road Rage Incident

POMONA (CNS) - A 21-year-old Pomona man was jailed this morning after officers stopped him for an alleged road rage incident and found two weapons in his vehicle.

Officers witnessed the incident about 7 p.m. Thursday in the area of Park Avenue and Eighth Street and pulled over the vehicle of the primary agitator and discovered two other people in the vehicle, including a 5-year-old child, according to Sgt. M. Medellin with the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force.

A search of the vehicle determined the suspect, identified as Richard Griego, had a loaded gun within his reach and a further search turned up an unsecured shotgun, Medellin said.

Griego was taken into custody without incident and booked at the Pomona City Jail on suspicion of illegal gun possession and child endangerment, Medellin said.
