Deputy Attacked While Trying to Arrest Suspect in Cudahy

CUDAHY (CNS) - A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy was assaulted tonight while trying to take a suspect into custody in Cudahy.

Deputies responded to a disturbance call about 10 p.m. in the 5200 block of Live Oak Street, east of Wilcox Avenue, according to the sheriff's department.

Video from the scene showed a large response from the department and at least five deputies around a handcuffed suspect.

The suspect fought with the deputy at some point during the arrest and paramedics were called to tend to the deputy and suspect, KCAL9 reported.

The extent of injuries to either person was not disclosed.
