Police Arrest Barricaded Domestic-Violence Suspect in Pomona

POMONA (CNS) - A 29-year-old domestic-violence suspect was in custody this morning after he barricaded himself inside his Pomona apartment.

Officers responded about 5:30 p.m. Monday to a call of an alleged domestic-violence incident and were told by the victim the suspect was armed with a firearm, according to Sgt. Robert Scheppmann of the Pomona Police Department. The location of the incident was not disclosed.

Police tried to talk with the suspect, identified as Lorin Jessup, but he locked himself inside his apartment with two roommates, prompting a request for a department SWAT team to respond to the scene, Scheppmann said.

After a “lengthy standoff,'' the roommates walked out of the apartment and the suspect was arrested, Scheppmann said, adding a pellet gun was found inside the unit.
