#SmallBusinessShoutout - Charles Wine Company

The ongoing Covid situation has affected local small businesses and many are struggling to stay open. In an effort to help those small businesses survive, we are featuring them in a segment we call #SmallBusinessShoutout!

Today we'd like to introduce you to Charles Wine Company!

Charles Wine Company is a family-owned boutique winery located right here in Los Angeles.

Paul Charles says it all started in 2007 with a trip to Temecula Valley Wine Country for a little wine tasting. The experience and a conversation he had with the owner and winemaker of the winery led him to purchase his first premium wine kit. That led to Paul converting his backyard to a small vinyard, growing Cabernet and Zinfandel grapes, which he crushed by hand to produce his first bottle of wine.

From there, Paul and his family traveled the world, touring wineries in Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy and Greece and across the U.S. meeting with winemakers that inspired them to produce their own label. After working several years to perfect their wine, they are now producing about 900 cases a year.

Currently they produce four varietals, which you can purchase online HERE by bottle

  • 2018 Symphony
  • 2018 Zinfandel "Passport”
  • 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 2018 Pinot Noir "Equality"

And, this year, they started their Wine Club where you can sign up for two shipments a year, in February and August!

Paul joined Gary & Shannon today to talk about the business and how they're faring during all the covid madness. Hear that interview below.
