POMONA (CNS) - Authorities today identified a young man who was shot to death in Pomona, and investigators continued their efforts to solve the crime.
The shooting was reported at about 7 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of White Avenue, Pomona Police Sgt. Edgard Padilla said.
“Upon arrival, officers located the victim down suffering from gunshot wounds,'' Padilla said. “L.A. County Fire personnel treated the victim at the scene but he succumbed to his injuries.''
The man was identified by the Los Angeles County coroner's office as Jacob Serrano, 19, of Pomona.
The area of White Avenue and Phelps Street was closed to traffic for several hours while detectives investigated the death. A motive for the shooting was not known, Padilla said.
