Homeless Man Charged With Killing 80-Year-Old Pasadena Woman

PASADENA (CNS) - A homeless man was charged today killing an 80-year-old woman who was attacked while taking her daily morning walk with her husband in Pasadena.

Oscar Villamil, 43, is charged with murder in the Dec. 29 attack on Pui Gee Ng Lee, who died a week later, along with an elder abuse count involving her spouse.

The couple was “walking on the sidewalk when the suspect, for unknown reasons and without provocation, punched and kicked the male victim and pushed the female victim, causing her to fall and hit her head on the concrete sidewalk'' in the 100 block of East Colorado Boulevard at about 8 a.m. Dec. 29, according to a  Pasadena Police Department statement.

Arriving officers found Lee's husband “injured but in stable condition'' and his wife “in critical condition, in and out of consciousness.'' Paramedics took her to a hospital, where she remained in critical condition until she died Tuesday.

Police said an investigation into the attack led to Villamil, who was arrested Tuesday and is tentatively set to be arraigned Friday at the Pasadena courthouse.
