Suspect Arrested in Kidnapping From Santa Ana Hotel

SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 35-year-old felon was behind bars today on suspicion of kidnapping an 18-year-old woman at gunpoint from a hotel in Santa Ana.

Adrian Marcellus Alloway was being held without bail, according to Orange County Jail records.

Alloway has a pending unrelated case for misdemeanor false personation and driving on a suspended or revoked license due to a DUI. He was due for a hearing in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana on Thursday.

The victim's friend called police on Monday to report the kidnapping from a room where they were staying at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Orange County Airport at 2721 Hotel Terrace, according to police.

About 24 hours later the victim managed to get away from the suspect and sought help from deputies at the sheriff's station in Victorville, police said.

With help from the victim and hotel surveillance video, police identified Alloway as the suspect, police said. Alloway was arrested Tuesday in Victorville, police said.

Alloway was booked on suspicion of kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm, police said.

Alloway met the victim through social media, Santa Ana Police Department Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.
