Sheriff's SWAT Team Arrests Barricaded Suspect in Bellflower

BELLFLOWER (CNS) - An armed suspect is in custody this morning after a more than eight hour standoff with a sheriff's SWAT team from the Special Enforcement Bureau at a home in Bellflower.

The suspect had been barricaded inside the home on the 9200 block of Faywood Street since 9:12 p.m. Sunday, according to Deputy Wally Bracks of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

The sheriff's department tweeted at 5:22 a.m. that the operation had concluded with the suspect in custody and Faywood Street reopened.

“SEB deputies have assumed command of the tactical response and Crisis Negotiation Team personnel are in route to bring about a peaceful resolution,'' Bracks said earlier.

No further information was available about what led to the barricade.
