Woman Found Dead in Downey Was 32-Year-Old La Puente Resident

DOWNEY (CNS) - Authorities said today a woman found unresponsive with a head wound in front of a home in Downey was a 32-year-old La Puente resident, and an autopsy was pending to determine her cause of death.

Downey police dispatchers received a report of an injured woman in front of a home in the 11600 block of Lakewood Boulevard, near Bellflower Boulevard, about 11:15 p.m. Sunday. Sarahi Hernandez died at the scene, according to the coroner's office.

According to Downey police, Hernandez's death is being investigated as a homicide.

A news videographer at the scene reported it appeared the woman had been shot and drove to the Lakewood Boulevard location, where she tried to get help.

Police declined to say whether Hernandez had been shot, citing concerns about the ongoing investigation.

No arrests have been reported.
