Dan Levy Just Teased A Possible 'Schitt's Creek' Movie

More Schitt's Creek might be on the horizon.

Much to the dismay of fans, the beloved sitcom came to an end after five seasons earlier this year. Series creator and star Dan Levy has spoken about wanting to end the show before it ran out of steam, however, in a recent interview he teased there might just be enough steam left for a Schitt's Creek movie.

"I don't think there's a single person on our team, cast or crew, that wouldn't want to come back for a movie," Levy told People. "But at the same time, I think the success of the show really was tied so closely to the care that was put into it and the quality that was put into it. If I can come up with an idea that I think builds on what we've already done in a way that feels good and exciting and new and fresh and challenges our actors, then great. I go to sleep willing that idea to come to me."

While there's a definite possibility of a Schitt's Creek reunion some time in the future, Levy warns it won't be any time soon. "It's always good for people to miss you before you come back with something," he said. "So I think we're going to let some time pass. And in that time, hopefully, I'll get a little inkling of desire to start exploring more seriously."

Just because there won't be more Schitt's Creek in the immediate future doesn't mean Levy is going anywhere. Deadline reported Levy signed a major three year deal with ABC to develop an unspecified number of projects for the network.

While chatting with The Hollywood Reporter about his upcoming projects, Levy said Schitt's Creek "isn't all that I want to do. I have ideas for dramas, I have ideas for thrillers. I have ideas for other comedies. I don't want to be limited to just a specific genre because that's what I've become known for . . . In a way, we always considered Schitt's Creek to be a drama that just involved funny things and people and circumstances. That kind of comedy is something that I think I'll always be interested in, and I'm trying to write something right now that I'm really excited about that's very different from Schitt's Creek. All we can really do at this point is just focus and then try and make another show that means something to people and that's that."
