Hailey Baldwin is clearing the air.
During a recent appearance on Ashley Graham's Pretty Big Deal podcast, the 23-year-old model discussed the rumors that her relationship with Justin Bieber overlapped with his romances with other women. Not long before Hailey and Justin got together in 2018, Justin had rekindled his romance with on-again-off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez. After Justin and Selena called it quits, the 'Holy' singer was reportedly seeing model Baskin Champion.
"People don't know, too, we had been talking for a while before we got back together," Hailey said of her own rekindled romance with her now-husband. "Contrary to popular belief, he had been single for a while and I had been single and we were kind of just trying to figure life out."
Justin and Selena were reported to have called it quits in March 2018, while Hailey and Justin were first spotted showing off some PDA in June of that year. By July, Justin proposed to Hailey in the Bahamas. They tied to knot in a civil ceremony in New York City just one month later. "Everything happened really fast, I think everybody knows that," Hailey admitted. "Everybody was kind of, like, 'Hey, did you get married?'"
While Selena stayed mum on her ex's whirlwind engagement at the time, she finally addressed the situation from her own perspective when she dropped new music in late 2019. In the emotional ballad 'Lose You To Love Me,' Selena sings "In two months you replaced us like it was easy/Made me think I deserved it."
