Ring Recalls Thousands of Smart Doorbells Because of Possible Fire Hazard

Ring is recalling 350,000 video doorbells after reports of some of them catching fire.

Consumer Product Safety officials say the issue occurs because the battery can overheat when the incorrect screws are used for installation.

The $100 doorbells were sold on Ring's website and on Amazon between June 2020 and October 2020.

So far, Ring has received 23 reports of doorbells catching fire and causing property damage, as well as 8 reports of minor burns.

You can find out if your doorbell is part of this recall through Ring’s website HERE or on the app by entering the doorbell's serial number.
