One of the Charges Against Derek Chauvin has Been Dismissed

One of the charges against Derek Chauvin, the former officer involved in the death of George Floyd, has been dismissed.

The third-degree murder charge was dropped, however the other charges, unintentional second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter, still stand.

Floyd, a Black man, died in May after Chauvin, who is white, knelt on Floyd's neck for as Floyd said he couldn't breathe.

The other officers with Chauvin during the incident, J. Kueng, Thomas Lane, and Tou Thao are all still charged with aiding and abetting both second-degree murder and manslaughter.
