Man, 26, Arrested For Alleged Killing Of Infant Relative

LONG BEACH (CNS) - A 26-year-old man was behind bars today for the alleged killing of his six-month-old relative in Long Beach.

Officers were called to the 6800 block of Harbor Avenue at about 9:50 p.m. on June 10 for an infant in “full arrest,'' according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The infant, later identified as Zeke Soriano, was taken to a hospital, where he died, police reported. LBPD Child Abuse detectives responded to the scene due to “suspicious circumstances.''

“The coroner's office investigation ultimately revealed infant Soriano suffered non-accidental trauma at hands of another to the upper torso,'' police said.

Homicide detectives investigated the case, and on Tuesday, Manuel Torres of Long Beach was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder, according to police. He was being held on $2 million bail at the Long Beach City Jail.
