John Earl King of Santa Ana, 49, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, felony evading, possession of stolen property and “several other California Vehicle Code violations,” Seal Beach Police Sgt. Nick Nicholas said.

At about 8 p.m., the investigation led a Seal Beach police officer to locate the stolen vehicle in Garden Grove, where the officer tried to pull over the suspect and a pursuit began.

Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb in the area of Lampson Avenue and Brookhurst Street.

“The driver then fled on foot into a parking lot where he was apprehend with the assistance of a Garden Grove Police Department canine and the Anaheim Police Department helicopter,” Nicholas said. “The suspect was taken into custody without incident.”
