LA County Donates $1 Million To Baby Supply Charity Group

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Los Angeles County awarded a $1 million grant to Baby2Baby, a nonprofit group that provides infant supplies to needy families, Supervisor Hilda Solis announced today.

The announcement came as Solis took part in a Baby2Baby distribution event that provided diapers and baby wipes to families in East Los Angeles.

“The disparities that East Los Angeles families are enduring in this pandemic are profound,'' Solis said in a statement. “Many families are diluting baby formula to make it last longer given how costly and hard it has been to find. I am proud to partner with Baby2Baby to make sure parents gain access to essential items that will keep their children safe and healthy.''

The $1 million donation is the largest gift Baby2Baby has ever received. Since the coronavirus pandemic began, the organization has conducted multiple distribution events in Solis' East Los Angeles-area district, handing out more than 562,000 diapers, 649,000 wipes and 200 cans of formula, officials said.
