NBA Players Have Decided To Resume The Playoffs

Oklahoma City Thunder v Houston Rockets - Game Five

Last night, the big story broke that both the Lakers and Clippers voted to stop the season in light of the Jacob Blake shooting that occurred in Wisconsin. Today, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting that the games will ultimately continue.

According to Shams Charania, the NBA is aiming to get players back out on the floor as early as Friday although nothing has been set yet.

Walk-out yesterday began when the Bucks decided not to play the scheduled playoff game vs. the Magic in protest of the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old Black man, in Wisconsin.

Players met on Wednesday night and the decision, and further meetings among both players and the NBA's Board of Governors took place on Thursday as the league and its union decided what to do about the rest of its season. Eventually, the players decided for themselves to continue playing.

Many players before entering the bubble expressed reservations about playing once protests against the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police began. No NBA season in history has ever concluded without the crowning of a champion, and the 2019-20 season
