Two People Killed, One Injured After A Shooting Amid Kenosha Riots

Two people were killed and a third person injured following a shooting during the third night of riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, that stemmed from the shooting of Jacob Blake, who was shot in the back at close-range by a police officer. The injured individual was taken the hospital with "serious, but non-life-threatening injuries."

The gunman has been identified as 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse of Antioch, Illinois. He was taken into custody and is facing one charge of murder.

Officials are investigating whether Rittenhouse was part of a "self-styled" militia that has been patrolling the streets of Kenosha since the protests and riots broke out earlier in the week.

Graphic video from the scene shows a group of people chasing after a man armed with a rifle. He falls to the ground and starts shooting as a crowd of people close in. He gets up and continues to fire as the group runs for their lives.

Another video shows a man who appears to be Rittenhouse running from a group of people. One of those people threw something towards him, and as they approached, the gunman started firing multiple shots as he fled.

Rioters continued to loot and burn businesses throughout the city as 250 Wisconsin National Guard troops were called into the help quell the unrest. Kenosha Fire Chief Charles Leipzig said there were 34 fires, and 30 businesses were destroyed or damaged throughout the night.
