Moreno Valley to Give Away Thousands of Masks at Local Grocery Stores

In an effort to cut the spread of the coronavirus, the City of Moreno Valley announced they will give away 175,000 masks beginning this week at participating grocery stores.

The mask giveaway is part of the city's "We've Got You Covered" program. They will be handed out by police, fire, code enforcement and park ranger personnel at various events and grocery stores. The masks were obtained by Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez and donated from the U.S. Conference of Mayors, government agencies, local businesses and other organizations.

"I am glad that we can provide these free face coverings to residents through this program," he said. "As I have said since the start of this pandemic, proper handwashing, physical distancing and covering the face can significantly decrease our risk of infection."

You can find locations of the giveaways on the city's website at: www.moval.org/gotyoucovered.
