FDA Expands List of Hand Sanitizers to Avoid

The Food and Drug Administration has added more hand sanitizers to its list of products that tested positive for methanol.

According to the FDA, methanol can prove "toxic" when absorbed through the skin or ingested and can result in nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system or death.

All of the sanitizers flagged by the FDA were produced in Mexico with many of them already recalled and the rest being recommended for recalls.
