Body Found at Lake Piru Confirmed to be That of Actress Naya Rivera

The Ventura County Sheriff's Department confirmed this afternoon that the body discovered at Lake Piru earlier this morning is that of Glee actress Naya Rivera, who went missing last week after renting a boat with her son Josey.

Authorities said Thursday they believe Rivera drowned in the lake. Her son was later found unharmed in the boat wearing a life vest and wrapped in a towel. An adult sized-life vest was also found in the boat. The son reportedly told investigators that his mom went swimming while he got back on the boat, but "his mom never made it out of the water," according to Sheriff's Sgt. Kevin Donoghue.

Rivera was reportedly familiar with Lake Piru and no foul play is suspected in her disappearance.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
