Singapore Releases Robot Dog to Enforce Social Distancing Efforts

A robot dog has been unleashed in one of Singapore's national parks to help keep up social distancing efforts.

The robot, named Spot, was developed by Boston Dynamics and is part of a pilot program to remind park visitors to practice social distance.

Spot patrols the park and speaks to people reminding them of guidelines by saying things like:

“Let’s keep Singapore healthy”

“For your own safety and for those around you, please stand at least one metre apart. Thank you.”

Spot is controlled remotely and also has cameras that can estimate how many people are in the park at any one time.
