'Raiders of the Lost Ark' To Begin Sunday Night Movies on CBS

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - CBS will air “Raiders of the Lost Ark” at 8 p.m. tonight to begin a five-week run of movies from Paramount Pictures on Sunday nights.

“Sunday Night at the Movies” was necessitated because CBS has no remaining unaired episodes of its Sunday night scripted series, “God Friended Me,” “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “NCIS: New Orleans” stemming from the suspension of production caused by the coronavirus outbreak.

The other movies that will air on “Sunday Night at the Movies” are “Forrest Gump” (May 10); “Mission: Impossible” (May 17); “Titanic” (May 24) and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” (May 31).

“Sunday Night at the Movies” will be the first Sunday night movie showcase to air on a major broadcast network since the “CBS Sunday Movie” ended its 21-season run in 2006.

CBS and Paramount Pictures are both units of the global media and entertainment company ViacomCBS.
