One Killed, One Wounded in Boyle Heights Shooting, Suspects Sought

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Police searched this morning for at least two suspects following an officer-involved shooting in Boyle Heights.

Metropolitan Division officers patrolling in the area of East Cesar Chavez Avenue and North Savannah Street about 11 p.m. witnessed a shooting in progress, according to Sgt. Frank Preciado of the Los Angeles Police Department.

At least one of the suspects was armed with a gun and an officer- involved shooting occurred, but it was unknown if any suspects were struck by gunfire, he said.

“A perimeter was established and currently there is a tactical search for the outstanding suspects,” Preciado said.

No officers were hurt, Preciado said.

Officers found two victims from the original shooting suffering from gunshot wounds, one died of his injuries and the second victim was taken to a hospital with stable vital signs, Preciado said.

A description of the suspects was not immediately disclosed.
