College Students are Suing to Get Their Tuition and Fees Back

With college classes being moved online and students having to leave campus during the pandemic, many are asking for some of their money back.

A lawsuit has been filed against Liberty University in Virginia, demanding room and board payments be returned.

The lawsuit claims:

"The students also no longer received or could not otherwise obtain the services and activities from Liberty for which their fees for the semester paid."

CBS News reports that the private evangelical university asks $4,450 for a meal plan, while student housing ranged from $4,750 to $8,000 per year.

The school issued a statement saying that students who decided to leave campus will receive a $1,000 credit, but will defend against the suit.
