LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Baby2Baby has donated over 150,000 diapers and more than 3,500 cans of formula for needy patients with newborns, it was announced today.
The Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization made the donation to reduce the need of families to leave their homes and risk contracting or spreading the coronavirus, Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis said.
The donation was also made because many primary care patients with newborns have told county health care providers they cannot find diapers and baby formula at their grocery stores due to limited stock, Solis said.
Baby2Baby provides children living in poverty, up to age 12, with diapers, clothing and other basic necessities.
The need to assist those living in poverty has become greater with the economic slowdown related to the coronavirus outbreak, according to Baby2Baby co-Presidents Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer Patricof.
