West Hollywood Mayor John D’Amico Test Positive for Coronavirus

West Hollywood Mayor John D’Amico has just tested positive for coronavirus. All city staffers have been ordered by the city manager to leave work and work from home while the facilities are being sanitized. Deadline reports that the mayor did not attend the city council meeting this past Monday due to feeling ill, but however chose to phone in.

“The mayor is taking every precaution as directed by his physician and public health directives,” said the city’s announcement. “He is home resting and practicing an abundance of self-care. His husband is doing fine and is doing his part to quarantine at home with Mayor D’Amico. To facilitate their household’s focus on wellness, the mayor is asking for privacy at this time.”

D’Amico, who is 57-years-old, is also HIV positive and intending on quarantining himself for two weeks in an effort to contain the virus. West Hollywood, a city with its own government, has reported eight cases of the coronavirus so far.
