Instagram Video Shows East L.A. Teacher Bashing Kobe Bryant

New video posted on Instagram shows an East Los Angeles high school teacher calling Kobe Bryant "a horrible person," just one day after his death.

The video was recorded on Monday at James A. Garfield High School. According to the 14-year-old student who posted it to IGTV, his band teacher Brian Bailey spent about four minutes ranting to his class about how terrible Bryant was for Los Angeles.

“What made him a great basketball player also made him a horrible basketball player and a horrible person,” Bailey is heard saying on the video.

He also mentioned Bryant's 2005 sexual assault trial...

“That guy raped a girl and got away with it, he raped her, his money and his power got away with raping a young lady,” Bailey continued. “If it was any of you, you’d be in jail.”
“I know it’s not a popular opinion and you have every right to be upset with me,” he added.

School officials are now asking for "increased sensitivity" on campus.

According to CBSLA, Garfield principal Andres Favela said their officials were aware of the video and the school's counseling staff has been alerted.
