Investigation Launched After Video Shows TV Host Eating Dead Baby Dolphin

An investigation was launched after TMZ released a video this past weekend of the Discovery Channel’s ‘Naked and Afraid’ host, Gary Golding, mutilating and consuming a deceased baby dolphin that washed up on Aliso Beach, CA.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Laguna Beach Lifeguards are currently looking into all the details of the case to determine if Golding violated the Marine Mammal Protection Act, which prohibits tampering with marine life without a proper permit. 

Due to the regulations of the MMPA, Golding may face substantial fines and other criminal penalties for his actions. Consequently, investigators and scientists expressed to the Daily News it is paramount that the public reports marine life strandings to authorities so that we can continue to learn about these creatures and ensure they are protected.
