L.A. County Jobless Rate Holds Steady in November

U.S. Employers Add 207,000 Jobs In July

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Los Angeles County held steady at 4.4% in November, compared to the previous month, the state Employment Development Department reported today.

Last month's unemployment rate was below the November 2018 rate, which was 4.7%, according to the EDD.

In Orange County, where seasonally adjusted numbers were not available, the November jobless rate was 2.5%, the same as October.

Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.9% in November, the same rate as October but below the 4.1% rate in November 2018.

According to the EDD, total nonfarm employment in Los Angeles County increased by 38,500 between October and November to reach nearly 4.7 million. The trade, transportation and utilities sector led with way by adding 21,300 jobs.
