LAPD Releases Video of Collision That Left Man, 39, Injured in South L.A.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Police released video today of a hit-and-run collision that left a 39-year-old pedestrian critically injured in the Florence area of South Los Angeles, in the hope that someone can help investigators identify the driver of the suspect vehicle as well as others who passed the downed victim.

The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday near Central Avenue and 67th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim, identified as Joel Cruz of Los Angeles, was attempting to cross Central Avenue when he was hit by a southbound vehicle described as a black or dark blue Kia four-door, police said.

Detectives are also seeking the public's help in locating Cruz's family members, according to the LAPD.
