Stop by the East Valley Animal Shelter for a New Friend

So what do you do when you find a stray dog? You try to take it to an animal shelter right? Well an animal shelter in Van Nuys got a truck full of dogs.

Over the weekend, the East Valley Animal Shelter received 51 dogs in a U-Haul truck. Now the shelter wants you to come down and find a new family member.

All though the dogs are in need of grooming, workers at the shelter don't believe the dogs were abused.

The dogs range in breed, age, and size. However, most of them are small terrier mixes and each and every one of them need love. If you are seriously looking to add a new furry family member, then make your way to the East Valley Animal Shelter. They're looking for anyone who is serious about adopting or fostering to think about giving one of these wonderful dogs a forever home.

Officer Michael Treadway with the L.A. Animal Services tells ABC 7 that shelters are not permanent homes.

"The shelter is a temporary home while the dogs are on the way to get to that forever home. So it's very important for folks to come out here and help us out, help the dogs out, help the community out."

Some of the dogs have been adopted but there are still plenty of others looking for a home.

What are you waiting for? Your new friend is waiting for you at the shelter. Go and give them a loving home!
