Emma Watson Says She Prefers To Be Called 'Self-Partnered' Over 'Single'

Emma Watson is attempting to override the pressures that come with turning 30 and that includes her romantic status.

In her new cover story for British Vogue, the Harry Potter alum, who is set to enter her next decade in April, said that she initally didn't understand the fuss surrounding the milestone, but she is currently "stressed and anxious" about the date. "I realize it’s because there is suddenly this bloody influx of subliminal messaging around. If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you’re not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you’re still figuring things out," she explained. "There’s just this incredible amount of anxiety."

Watson went on to share the new title that she has adopted. "I never believed the whole 'I'm happy single' spiel," she continued. "I was like, 'This is totally spiel.’ It took me a long time, but I’m very happy [being single]. I call it being self-partnered."

Nonetheless, the star is currently trying her hand at the dating scene. "I am dating, as in not one specific person, but I am going on dates," she explained. "My friends are really good at setting me up. Even things that haven't worked out romantically, some of my best friends are people I've gotten set up on a date with."
