100 Year Old Texas Veteran has Sweet Birthday Request

Texas resident and almost centenarian James South has an awesome birthday request and we want you to help!

The veteran has asked for 100 birthday cards to celebrate his 100th birthday on October 7th.

With the help of his assisted living home, he posted a photo of himself with a sign that reads:

"Hello! My name is James South and I am a proud World War II Veteran! I will be turning 100 on October 7th, 2019 and I would like to receive 100 birthday cards.”

James' son Jim told CNN that his father was a born and raised Texan before joining the army in 1940.

His parents were married for 55 years until his mother died 18 years ago and in retirement James had managed to stay active by golfing, attending to his garden and wood working.

It was only within the last year at age 98 that James had to move into assisted living.
