Wrongway Driver of Pickup Truck Causes Multi-Vehicle Crash on 10 Freeway

The crash was reported just after 3 a.m. on the westbound San Bernardino Freeway at Pacific Avenue, California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Polizzi said.

WEST COVINA (CNS) - The driver of a white pickup truck went eastbound in the westbound lanes of the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in West Covina today, causing a crash involving multiple vehicles, authorities said.

The crash was reported just after 3 a.m. on the westbound San Bernardino Freeway at Pacific Avenue, California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Polizzi said.

The exact number of vehicles damaged and whether there were injuries was not immediately reported, Polizzi said. Some of the vehicles blocking lanes might belong to good Samaritans, he said.

A SigAlert was issued at 3:22 a.m. shutting down all westbound lanes of the San Bernardino Freeway at Sunset Avenue while the crash was investigated and the wreckage was cleared, Polizzi said. The SigAlert was cancelled at 4:15 a.m.
