Couple Spends $120k Mistakenly Deposited into Their Account

A Pennsylvania couple landed in some major trouble after going on a shopping spree with money that was accidentally deposited into their account.

Pennsylvania State Police say Robert and Tiffany Williams received $120,000 to their account when a teller made an error back in May.

However instead of notifying the bank, they began spending like crazy, buying an SUV, a camper, two four-wheelers and even gave $15,000 to friends.

Police say in total, the couple spent $107,000 between June 3rd and June 19th.

But of course the bank realized the error and wants the money back.

At first, the couple were cooperating and reportedly said they'd work out a payment plan, but eventually they started avoiding calls from the bank representatives.

Eventually the police got involved and arrested the couple over the weekend on felony theft charges.

They've since been released on a $25,000 bond.
