Toy Snake Prompts Fear, Then Laughs in Riverside County

I HATE snakes, so much so that I can't even look at things that are snake print and god help me if I ever actually see a real one.

So I totally understand the response one Riverside County woman had when she thought she saw a cobra slithering through a neighbor's lawn.

After calling animal services to grab the snake, Riverside County Animal Services Officer Adam Haisten says all wasn't as it seemed:

“Although rather realistic at a distance, up close the blank expression and rubber teeth pretty much lowered the threat level to zero. I couldn’t help but start laughing.”

The officer later told the woman what she saw was a toy, and though she was understandable embarrassed, Haisten says it's always better to be safe than sorry and to call your city's animal control.
