Multiple Officers Hurt, Suspect Dead Following Riverside Gun Fight

One CHP officer and a suspect are now confirmed dead following a gun battle erupted in near the 215 freeway in Riverside on Monday evening. Two other officers including bystanders have also reportedly been injured. According to Riverside Police, the suspect began shooting after CHP pulled over his vehicle, preparing to tow. The incident, which was reported just before 6 p.m took place near the area of Box Springs Boulevard and Eastridge Avenue.

Additional reports state that mother and child bystanders may have also been injured, but details have not been confirmed as of yet.

The extent of injuries on the two CHP officers has not been made immediately available.

In video footage that has been released, you can see the alleged gunman with an assault rifle near his white pickup truck.

Two officers are seen on the ground near CHP vehicles before another officer appears to drag one away. A Moreno Valley patrol car then transported a wounded officer to the hospital for assistance.

As for the other injured officer who lay on the ground, multiple officers assisted him into an airlift where he was taken to the Riverside University Health System Medical Center.

Andre Moye has been confirmed by family members as the officered killed.
