LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A man was wounded today at a high-rise residential building in downtown Los Angeles, prompting a search of the premises by officers for the suspected shooter.

The shooting was reported about 4:05 p.m. in the 600 block of South Spring Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Mike Lopez.

The victim was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition, Lopez said.

A search of the premises for the suspect proved fruitless and a description of the alleged gunman was immediately available, he said.
